Strategic Planning and Execution

"A good strategic plan, well executed beats an excellent strategic plan, poorly executed...every time"

Execution is the Key Ingredient to Success

Most strategic planning is internally focused, performed by the key management team in a retreat setting. The output is a reflection of management's views of the market and competitive environment and tends to reinforce approaches that are known to management.

Often this leads to strategies that support the status quo, ignore market realities, and overlook significant new opportunities. At best it leads to a nice-looking report that sits in a binder on the bookshelf.

Customer ForwardTM Strategic Planning

The Mead Consulting Group has developed a unique approach to creating and executing successful strategic plans.

Our Customer ForwardTM Strategic Planning process integrates external market and customer input into the strategic planning process, prioritizes those strategies that an organization has the highest probability of executing well, and develops a feedback loop that tracks results.

MCG works with management to assess internal capabilities - personnel, operations, marketing, sales and finance - to identify areas of improvement required for successful execution.

MCG then works with the client team to identify the keys to successful implementation. Ninety-day, 180-day and 360-day action plans and metrics are developed and MCG monitors ongoing progress and recommends corrective actions if problem areas arise during execution.

Fast on your feet. Every 90 days the plan goes through an evaluation of what's working and what's not as well as a re-examination to determine any changes or course corrections that need to be made for the next 90 days.
