David P.
Mead, President of The Mead Consulting Group, Inc.,
has 25+ years of experience growing technology, medical, manufacturing,
and distribution businesses in positions such as President, CEO, and
General Manager and broad managerial responsibility for companies such
as Mountain Medical Equipment, Aegis Medical, Turnkey Medical
Technologies, Samsonite, Milton Bradley, Hartford National Bank, among
others.

Mr. Mead founded
The Mead Consulting Group, Inc. in 1981. He specializes in working closely
with the CEOs and business owners of mid-size companies to help them create
value and leverage business strengths to take their companies to the next
level. Clients rave about his ability to work behind the scenes to identify
the key issues and focus management attention on value-creating activities.
Mr. Mead has had
success with his own mid-size companies as well. He has founded and developed
seven companies. He sold Dycol Chemicals, a specialty chemical company, to a
Fortune 400 company. With Mountain Medical Equipment, he was instrumental in
leading the growth to a $50 million business in less than five years, taking
the company public in the process. He also founded Turnkey Medical
Technologies, a medical technology development and consulting services company
and sold the business to a major Pharmaceutical/Device corporation in two
years.
Mr. Mead has made a
commitment to improving the environment for mid-size businesses. It is his
objective to facilitate the growth of these companies by improving the access
to capital, broadening management expertise, increasing the opportunities to
develop boards of directors and advisors, and assisting in the creation of
strategic alliances between companies.
To this end,
Mr. Mead has been instrumental in developing peer groups for CEOs and business
owners of mid-size companies to exchange ideas and improve business practices.
He served on the board of the Colorado Directors Institute to increase the
numbers, quality, and training of potential experienced board members for
mid-size companies. He is President- elect of the Association for Corporate
Growth in Denver.
Mr. Mead
writes and speaks frequently on a national basis about subjects that affect
small and mid-size business.
